A Tiny Fundraiser returns to the Cultural Arts Council in July and August. In partnership with the CAC Satellite organization, The Douglas County Art Guild, each Thursday night the CAC will remain open till 7 pm with great refreshments, drinks, demos, and activities. Come enjoy the fun, relax, and get in touch with your creative side! Free admission & parking. The Douglas County Art Guild meets the first Tuesday of each month, at St. Julian’s Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Rd., Douglasville, GA . The meetings begin at 6:30 pm with show and tell and refreshments, followed at 7 pm with a program and business meeting. Visitors are always welcome!

Join Beyond the Front Porch as we tour Zoo Atlanta that houses over 1,500 animals representing more than 220 species. The zoo is home to the nation’s largest zoological collections of gorillas and orangutans and is one of only four zoos in the U.S. currently housing giant pandas. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.
Oct 12 all-day Beyond the Front Porch
Join Beyond the Front Porch as we visit The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum in Atlanta, Georgia that houses U.S. President Jimmy Carter‘s papers and other material relating to the Carter administration and the Carter family’s life. The library also hosts special exhibits, such as Carter’s Nobel Peace Prize and a full-scale replica of the Oval Office, including a copy of the Resolute Desk. The building housing the library and museum makes up 69,750 square feet, with 15,269 square feet of space for exhibits and 19,818 square feet of archive and storage space. The library stacks house 27 million pages of documents; 500,000 photos, and 40,000 objects, along with films, videos, and audiotapes. These collections cover all areas of the Carter administration, from foreign and domestic policy to the personal lives of President and Mrs. Carter. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County is delighted to announce the 23rd annual Chili Cook Off competition in downtown Douglasville on Saturday, October 19th from 6-9 p.m. This fun-filled fundraising event will be held in conjunction with the Rogue Runners Moonlight Run. All proceeds will benefit the CAC and its programs throughout the year. Join us for the Children’s Halloween Costume Contest portion of the evening. We can’t let the kids have all the fun, join the adult costume contest. Registration to open soon. Stay tuned.
Nov 9 all-day Beyond the Front Porch
Join Beyond the Front Porch as we honor our Veterans by learning more about the sacrifices of our Nations Infantry. We will have an immersive experience featuring over 230 years of Military History located in Columbus, GA just outside of Fort Benning. This 190,000 sq foot museum houses more than 70,000 military artifacts. We will have a professional guide lead us through this massive campus, while sharing with us interesting facts of the day in the life of a soldier and also enjoy an informative IMAX movie. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County is hosting its annual fundraising gala, themed “Mardi Gras” on November 23rd from 6 – 10 pm.
