Join Beyond the Front Porch as we tour the National Center for Civil & Human Rights in Atlanta, GA. This museum is dedicated to the achievements of both the civil rights movement in the United States and the broader worldwide human rights movement. This first of three phase 35,000 sq ft facility opened to the public on June 23, 2014. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.

Fee includes supplies and trees. 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM Compost 101- FREE, pre-registration required. Learn how to make compost from yard trimmings and food scraps. 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Bonsai Demonstration – $5.00, pay at door, pre-registration required This class is an introduction to the art of bonsai. 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM West Georgia Green Association – “Hazard tree risk assessment and mitigation” presentation.

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County is proud to present “Growing Up” performed by John Doyle on Saturday, February 23rd at the Dog River Library, 10:30 am. This performance explores the journey of characters as they navigate through their community, peer pressure, gangs, school, and his relationships. Ultimately revealing their inner journey of growing up as a teenager in Georgia. This is a FREE, family-friendly event! Sponsored by Georgia Council for the Arts, Greystone Power Foundation, and the Douglas County Economic Development Authority.
