Ocean Journey delights guests with penguins, sharks, butterflies and often scuba divers who interact with guests. The Easter Bunny is stopping by Hunter Park for breakfast soon and wants you to join! Join us on April 8, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am for a delicious breakfast with the Easter Bunny. During the breakfast the Bunny will be hopping around visiting with guests and taking pictures (remember to bring your camera). Following breakfast hundreds of Easter eggs will decorate our lawn for children to run and collect. The egg hunts will be separated into three different age groups (0-4, 5-8, & 9-12). There will be prizes for golden eggs, raffles, and candy. This is an event that all the family can enjoy. There are a limited number of seats available until the event is sold out, so make sure that you register in advance. The Third Annual “Dash For Dr. George” is in honor of Dr. George L. Harkins of Douglasville, GA ,Gene Barnes of Marietta, GA, and to ALL who have been affected by Esophageal Cancer, both patients and families. This horrific disease is currently the fastest growing cancer in the US. It is also the 7th deadliest cancer in the world. Early detection of the disease is very important. “Dash For Dr. George” is a fundraiser for the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation (ECEF). With your support, we hope to raise funds to help ECEF accomplish their mission. The Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation’s goals are to bring awareness and educate the public about this terrible disease, to help patients who have the disease, and to financially support research projects that focus on EC. The Douglas County Chamber is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Chamber Chicks Night Out – a Women’s Expo presented by Ameriprise Financial – Patti H. Puckett. The Expo will be held at the Douglasville Conference Center on Thursday, April 20th from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Chicks Night Out is focused on all things “chick” related and more than 60 local businesses are expected to be on hand to provide interactive exhibits of their products and services. This high-end expo is designed for a captive audience of female decision makers in a fun, upbeat atmosphere. The event will include a kick-off spring fashion show presented by Dillard’s, sponsor and exhibitor booths, heavy hor d’oeuvres, a complimentary beverage, SWAG bags provided by GreyStone Power Corporation, t-shirts provided by Unlimited T’s and giveaways! This year there will be a NEW addition to the expo, a health & wellness area presented by Gold Sponsor WellStar Douglas Hospital.
