Join us for Douglas County’s largest annual student youth art exhibit, showcasing selected work from student grades K-12 in the Douglas County Schools. The reception is free and open to the public, hosted by the Douglas County art teachers.

Teachers, family, and friends are all invited to come out and show their love for Douglas County’s young emerging artists.

The exhibit will be on view at the CAC March 7th – 28th.

Opening reception at the Cultural Arts Center on March 7th from 5-7 pm. Hosted by the DC Art Teachers.

Tickets are $25 per person or $20 CAC members. Tickets are available for purchase soon. **Tickets will increase to $35($30 CAC members) the day before the event.

Join Beyond the Front Porch as we take a step back in time as we enjoy a four hour railway excursion along the beautiful Toccoa River from Blue Ridge to McCaysville. The rail adventure is a two hour 26 mile round trip, with a two hour layover to have lunch and explore the state line attractions of Georgia and Tennessee.. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.

This year enjoy flamingo croquet, story-telling, cookie-decorating, egg-hunting, pin the tail on the Cheshire cat, and tea-party fun! For just $10 per person, you can spend as long as you’d like between 11 am and 2 pm in the company of the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Red Queen, White Queen, and of course, Alice.

Kaleidoscope @ Douglas County High School, Mashburn Theater

Kaleidoscope is a salute to the arts featuring vocal, dance, and visual art performances from talented high school students in the Douglas County School System. The community is invited to this special evening of talent. The evening’s vocal talent will include an a capella performance, show choirs, and special selections from musicals. A visual art display will feature art in various mediums. Several colleges and universities will be onsite with information about their fine arts programs and admissions process.
