One Douglas Day of Unity @ Douglas County Courthouse

One Douglas Day of Unity will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse, 8700 Hospital Drive, with leaders from County and City governments and law enforcement reaching out with a unified voice to address senseless violence and harmful words and actions, stating that there is no place for these actions in our united and caring community. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with fellowship and music in front of the Courthouse. A short program will be held on the Courthouse steps at 5:30 p.m. with Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan, Douglasville Mayor Rochelle Robinson, Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller, and Douglasville Police Chief Gary Sparks making remarks. Douglas County Magistrate Judge Barbara Caldwell will deliver an Invitation to Unity, and all attendees will be invited to walk together around the Courthouse as a demonstration of community.

37th Annual Moonlight Run @ Downtown Douglasville

We are excited that this 5K race is now a part of the USATF Georgia Distance Grand Prix Series! Click here for more information about the races in this series. Offering a variety of distances, from a tot trot for the little guys, to 1 mile for school age children, and a 5K through the streets of downtown Douglasville, this race has something for everyone…and it’s in the dark! This is one of the largest after-dark runs in the Southeast, with approximately 2,000 participants. The race features a chip-timed USATF certified 5K course and is part of the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series. Your finish time for the 5K event can be used as a qualifying time for seeding in the Peachtree Road Race. For your safety and the safety of others, strollers, roller blades, skateboards, animals and headphones are not allowed on the course. Participants with these devices or pets will be disqualified and removed from the course.
